When did I become a stranger in your yearbook

Braced teeth blurry

In smoky backwards vision

We played pick-up basketball at recess

You only had to block my shot once before

1-1/2 Cups of flour

2 cups Farina

3 Eggs

1 stick butter

1-1/2 tablespoon salt

Milk (as needed)

1.   Blend flour and Farina with salt

2.   Melt butter

3.   Beat eggs

4.   Add melted butter and eggs to farina mixture

5.   Mix with spoon

6.   Add milk a little at a time until it is putty texture

7.   Drop by ½ teaspoon fill into kettle of boiling water

8.   Cook 15 minutes

9.   Rinse dumplings in colander



Zoe Neely is a senior and an experienced artist at Hawken and has been doing art since she was little. She is really interested in animation, and she loves “coming up with characters, their environments, what objects they might use, and weaves all these separate art pieces into one larger story.” She tends to work in mediums from traditional to digital, but her favorite mediums to work in are watercolors and markers.
