Ace, Ace, Baby
The Varsity Girls Tennis team have been having a solid season under seasoned head coach Brian Smallwood. The team had an incredible season last year even qualifying some of their athletes to states. This year’s young team, spearheaded by freshman aces Eliana Yang and Tina Tewari, captained by Sammi Fremont, look to emulate the success of last year. The team has seen some marquee wins this season including a 5-0 drubbing of West Geauga and a 4-1 away win at CVC rival Chagrin. The team currently stands at a 8-9 record after a tough victory (3-2) against Laurel on 9/25. This victory should set them up well heading into the Hawken Tournament on 9/28 as well as their last match of the regular season hosting NDCL. Playoffs are fast approaching and the team will look to take it to the next gear as they look toward the postseason.
